Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages CELTA is an internationally recognised professional teaching qualification that is common in the field of teaching English as a foreign or second language. CELTA is the most widely recognised English teaching qualification accredited by University of Cambridge in the world. It’s the qualification most often requested by employers; three out of four English language teaching jobs require a CELTA qualification. The course is designed for potential teachers with little or no classroom experience and is therefore considered an entry level qualification in English language teaching.

The Celta Centre at Izmir University of Economics-School of Foreign Languages was established in 2004 as one of the three centers in Turkey. The center has the privilege of being the first Celta centre founded at a university in Turkey. We are also so proud that it has remained as the only university centre who has regular courses since it started. Today, The Celta Centre at Izmir University of Economics is one of the eight centers across the country. The centre has run more than 20 courses both full-time and part-time and that over 350 candidates have successfully attended these courses. More than 1000 students had the opportunity to have free English lessons in Celta Teaching Practice classes from day one.
